In May 2025, Polish citizens will elect a new President. On this occasion, ESN Poland proudly launches the voter turnout campaign #yourVOTEfromErasmus, aiming to encourage young people currently on exchange abroad to exercise their right to vote.

Erasmus is not just about studying abroad — it’s also about building a conscious and engaged civic society.

One of the core goals of the Erasmus+ programme is to support the active participation of young people in social and democratic life. The Erasmus Generation is not only gaining international experiences but is also shaping its civic identity and influencing the world around it - no matter where they are.

At the same time, according to the Eurobarometer Youth Survey 2024, only 38% of young Polish people regularly take part in elections. This is exactly why the campaign was created - to remind young people that their voice matters, even if they’re hundreds of kilometers from home.

What do we want to achieve?

The #yourVOTEfromErasmus campaign is a series of activities designed to:

  1. Prepare student-focused materials that explain the voting process from abroad and show how it works in practice.
  2. Encourage young people to take part in the presidential elections, building on their experiences from academic mobility or other forms of social engagement.
  3. Raise awareness about youth civic participation, with a focus on the Polish context.
  4. Highlight stories of people who have voted from abroad in the past to inspire others to follow their lead.
  5. Promote reliable sources of information and raise awareness of the dangers of disinformation.

Why does it matter?

Going on Erasmus isn’t a “break from reality” - it’s a chance to look at your citizenship from a new perspective. It’s often a moment when many young people begin to realize that real change starts with a voice - their own voice. Voting from abroad is not only a way to influence the future of your country, but also a form of engagement that builds bridges between citizens and their communities, no matter where they live.

What have we prepared?

As part of the campaign, we created an informational booklet titled “On Erasmus? Vote with us!” - a simple, step-by-step guide on how to vote from abroad, along with an accompanying leaflet.

Soon, you’ll also find inspiring stories on our social media - from young people who have voted from abroad in the past or will be voting for the first time soon.

Join us!

The #yourVOTEfromErasmus campaign is more than just an informational effort - it’s a shared call to action for young people who care. We’d love for you to join us - as voters, as promoters of the campaign, as active citizens.

Because no matter where you are — your vote matters.
